5 Days of Real Kids' Lunchboxes: What I Packed vs What They Actually Ate
If you’ve ever packed a colourful, balanced lunchbox only to find half a cucumber and a single bite taken out of a sandwich at 3 p.m.—this post is for you.
This week, I filmed five full days of my kids’ lunchboxes: what I packed each morning vs what came home after school. It’s honest, slightly hilarious, and super relatable if you’ve got fussy eaters or lunchbox fatigue.
MONDAY
I had high hopes! My son ate most of his lunch (legend), while my daughter barely touched hers—and only gave her mini cucumber a courtesy nibble.
TUESDAY
A bright, colourful lunch went out the door. My son left behind half a sandwich with a bite taken out of it (a classic move), and both kids expertly picked out the lettuce from their sandwiches.
WEDNESDAY
I kept it simple. And it worked! Both kids did pretty well—only a little fruit came home… and, once again, another bitten cucumber.
THURSDAY
Packed chicken & avo rolls, fresh fruit, and a little Easter egg treat. Surprise! The chocolate was eaten instantly, while the fruit made a comeback in the lunchbox.
FRIDAY
Another vibrant lunch, and both kids ate well. Most shocking moment of the week? My daughter left behind some of her Freddo Frog chocolate. Who is she?
